Greetings

Hi and hello to all who may be reading. Just started this thing up! One of my hopes is that imaginalRoots will act as an aid in facilitating communication with others, while simultaneously providing me with a stable base for my own creative processes. Immediate contact and communication is not necessary at this point, nor is it expected; however, it certainly is appreciated.

I love to be inspired and inspire - it's all around us. That basically means, well. . . send me links/videos/music/art of any kind that you enjoy. If you enjoy reading/listening/watching the material I present and imagine here, chances are, I'll dig what you have to say. Negative feedback and criticism is also appreciated. . . this sword is dual sided for sure.

Anyways, back to present.

Here is an initiative that seeks to provide children in "third world" (3/4 of the world) countries with small, durable laptops called XO's. The laptop and organization's overview is described as "a small machine with a big mission. The XO is a potent learning tool designed and built especially for children in developing countries, living in some of the most remote environments. It’s about the size of a small textbook. It has built-in wireless and a unique screen that is readable under direct sunlight for children who go to school outdoors. It’s extremely durable, brilliantly functional, energy-efficient, and fun"

It makes me wonder if this is actually helping? What exactly will they have access too? If implemented correctly, I'd like to think that this may spawn a new surge, perhaps an uprising of newly inspired minds, pushing information and spirit forward electronically and emotionally. If social networking tools, and our current software is installed on these machines, this initiative may have some traction.

Perhaps we should work on starvation and halt the destruction of their natural habitats first.
